Free MP3: @Peace – Cake

We are excited to finally see a sign of life from New Zealand’s hip hop mavericks @Peace. Their 2011 self-titled LP seems like a lifetime away but still gets heavy airtime around here. 2012 saw a Home Brew Crew release, but we’ve been anticipating a follow-up from @Peace.

Their next release is titled Girl Songs EP and will be released on February 14th. “Cake” is the first single from that release and is the first sign of activity we have seen in over a year. As always, the beats are on point as are the flows and lyrics.

This time the topic at hand is love, and the group takes an expected atypical and introspective approach dissecting the modern romantic scene that many young people experience nowadays. Listen to everything at play here, the lyrics, the beats, the atmosphere, and absorb it all as a preview for the full EP coming on Valentine’s Day.
