Pick Of The Week #21: Kris Mars

It’s been a while since our last Pick Of The Week for Laid Back Radio. But we are back at it again, starting off with Kris Mars. Recently he was featured on ‘The Heart’, a compilation by Tokyo Dawn Records. On this project of love-drenched heart beats you hear him with the track ‘Wake 2.0’ featuring Denmark band Non+. Besides Kris Mars you can hear artists as Comfort Fit, Georgia Anne Muldrow, fLako and Swede:art on the compilation.

It’s been a while since our last Pick Of The Week for Laid Back Radio. Some side-projects like our beat tape, upcoming magazine and brand new T-shirts, made in collaboration with Project Mooncircle, took away some of our time. But we are back at it again, starting off with Kris Mars!

Kris Mars is a 18-year old lyricist from Los Angeles. Early on he had a niche for reciting and writing words of poetry. In the 4th grade he competed in speech competitions, which included memorizing long speeches and reciting poetry in front of large crowds. Eventually his interest for lyrics merged with his love for hip hop.

Recently Kris Mars was featured on The Heart, a compilation by Tokyo Dawn Records. On this project of love-drenched heart beats you hear him with the track ‘Wake 2.0’ featuring Denmark band Non+. Listen to a preview of the track above. Besides Kris Mars you can hear artists as Comfort Fit, Georgia Anne Muldrow, fLako and Swede:art on the compilation.

Tune in to Laid Back Radio to hear the entire track, broadcasted once every few hours. Also stay tuned for the upcoming collaborative album by Kris Mars and Boom Clap Bachelors.

Just an ordinary guy always on the hunt for extraordinary music. Not just as the founder of The Find Magazine & Rucksack Records, but also as a freelance music journalist (bylines at Tracklib, Bandcamp, Wax Poetics, DIG Mag, among others) and—above all—out of love for all kinds of good music.
