Listen: Oddisee’s new album ‘The Iceberg’

Next to that absurdistic-yet-good Thundercat album, there’s another new release today worth your attention: The Iceberg by Oddisee. 12 tracks with a personal aim to “plea for humaity, to dig deeper in search of understanding and common ground.” It doesn’t come as a surprise that it’s an album full of soul, while also dipping his toes in gospel, jazz, r&b, and electronic music.

“We all go through the trials & tribulations of life. Why is it we feel the need to individualize our shared experiences? If only we could see our concerns as others do, maybe they wouldn’t be so serious.” – Oddisee about “Things”

Just an ordinary guy always on the hunt for extraordinary music. Not just as the founder of The Find Magazine & Rucksack Records, but also as a freelance music journalist (bylines at Tracklib, Bandcamp, Wax Poetics, DIG Mag, among others) and—above all—out of love for all kinds of good music.
