Stream: HEY WTF Records – Work That’s Fresh

Boston-based beat label HEY WTF Records celebrates its one-year anniversary with Work That’s Fresh, a forthcoming compilation functioning as a snapshot of where they are now. A 7-track celebration with music by Beat Gates, Dataka, Suff Daddy, Brian To Earth, amongst others.

We believe that beat music is important – it’s a unique genre of music in its ability to pay respectful homage, its versatility to creative listeners, and its unwavering down-to-earth culture. [We] look forward to growing as a label and doing everything we can to support and spread this amazing music. – HEY WTF

From an eerie production by Mike Wagz to a neck-snapping beat by Dataka, and from the wobbly intro by label head Ryan Lucht to fresh rhymes over a jazz-infused, recycled Suff Daddy beat by emcee Brian To Earth (formerly known as B-Rhymin’). This compilation gives you beats in its broadest sense, with the latter as the only track with vocals.

Work That’s Fresh (WTF) follows up Love Letter from early 2013, a cassette tape with material by Melodiesinfonie, Vanilla, Dil Withers, Handbook, and others.

Stream the new compilation in its entirety below, a The Find premiere in affiliation with HEY WTF Records. Work That’s Fresh is set for a release on September 7th, so stay tuned for a link to download or purchase it.
