News: Maikal X (Holland) and Kazu (Japan) are Couch Brothers

Dutch vocalist ShyRock a.k.a. Maikal X (ex-Postmen) and Japanese producer Kazu are working on a collaborative project called ‘Couch Brothers’. While they are working on an official release, they released a 4-track album sampler of ‘Electric Gypsy’.

Dutch vocalist Maikal X (formerly a member of Postmen) and Japanese producer Kazu are working on a collaborative project as ‘Couch Brothers’.  While they are finishing the official release, they released a 4-track album sampler of ‘Electric Gypsy’.

Kazu and ShyRock met in 2005 and decided to work together. Inspired by different music styles through Kazu’s gypsy travels, they started making music in a room that had a ‘yellow couch’ in it (hence the name). With nothing more than a laptop and a microphone, the ideas started flowing as soon as they would sit on the couch. This made them experiment with various music styles under the moniker ‘Couch Brothers’.

You can stream four tracks off ‘Electric Gypsy’ here. There’s no release date for the full album known yet, but at least now you can enjoy the album sampler while chilling on your couch.
