Watch: Homeboy Sandman – Bad Meaning Good

Homeboy Sandman isn’t just one of the dopest rappers on the come up right now, he’s also one of the most brilliant. I first heard of him from his fantastic articles that appeared in the Huffington Post. This Queens, NY raised emcee seems to have been everywhere and done everything.

Despite his ability to succeed in many facets of life, he is increasingly drawn to his love of hip hop. With a slew of solid releases under his belt he recently signed to the fabled Stones Throw Records. Here we have gorgeously shot video of him performing the song Bad Meaning Good. This song appears on the fantastic White Sands EP Sandman released with UK producer Paul White  just last month.

The beat is modernly produced yet bleeds the style, soul and ethos of 1970s jazz and funk. Homeboy Sandman meanwhile drops those lyrics where they are so vivid, that you’ll probably want to listen to the track a few times just to wrap your head around the prose.
