6. Anthony Hamilton – Comin’ From Where I’m From (DJ Devastate & Segerfalk Remix) [Digital]
Last month Swedish dj/producer DJ Devastate dropped another remix through The Find. After his interpretations on tracks by The Roots and Amy Winehouse, this time he transformed Anthony Hamilton’s “Comin’ From Where I’m From” together with keyboardist and fusion artist Fredrik Segerfalk.
On the original title song off Anthony Hamilton’s second album, the soul-storyteller is assisted by piano keys to talk about getting out of the ghetto. This remix stays true to that with mesmerizing keys. Thumping drums and a soothing sax serve as a perfect backdrop for Anthony Hamilton’s introspective lyrics.
