Video: Skyzoo – Jansport Strings

A new offering from Skyzoo and 9th Wonder, the video for “Jansport Strings” has dropped. The track is from Skyzoo’s upcoming album ‘A Dream Deferred’,  out October 2nd on The Faculty/Duck Down Music Inc.

The tune sees Skyzoo reflecting on how far he’s come since falling in love with hip hop as a youngun, and is skillfully woven around a powerful brassy soul beat from 9th. Duckdown is really building a reputation for not just dropping excellent records, but putting real thought and effort into their videos too, and this is no exception.

Emily West is a researcher, writer, DJ, artist and recent export to New York City. Across publications and gigs as STRAYDJ she deals in everything from hip hop to soul to noise. She is also a founding member of the Fat Beats Collective collaborative space for soul, jazz and hip hop connections, and moonlights by day as a research scientist.
