List: The Find Projects (2012 Recap)

1. Mr. J Medeiros – Pale Blue Dot (ft. Stro Elliot, 20syl & Shad) [Vinyl]

This was without a doubt one of our most exciting projects of 2012: our first vinyl record release. It’s a 7″ single for “Pale Blue Dot” by Mr. J Medeiros (of The Procussions). The B-side is home to a remix by 20syl (of Hocus Pocus & C2C) with a guest verse by Canadian emcee Shad.

This was Mr. J’s first appearance on wax since 2007’s Of Gods and Girls 12”. It’s pressed on 200 blue records with hand-numbered sleeve artwork by Nathan Travis.

Pale Blue Dot features Stro Elliot taking a different approach to hip hop crafting a mellow electronic tinged instrumental meshed with Mr. J’s poignant rhymes reflecting on the state of our society and complemented with a haunting chorus from Giannina Ashe. The remix features 20syl’s unique reinterpretation of the original track, providing further depth and broken beat grooves as well as insightful raps from Shad adding his wisdom to the wax.

The last few copies are available exclusively at HHV.de (Europe) and Jet Set Records (Japan). After that the limited run of 200 copies is sold out forever. We’re planning to release more vinyl records in the near future!

Just an ordinary guy always on the hunt for extraordinary music. Not just as the founder of The Find Magazine & Rucksack Records, but also as a freelance music journalist (bylines at Tracklib, Bandcamp, Wax Poetics, DIG Mag, among others) and—above all—out of love for all kinds of good music.
