My own video is based around a lot of Black Panther imagery. We shot at a few of the locations they would congregate and hold rally’s at for the cause they were in support of, whether it was “Free Lunch” or “Free Huey”…. I put a bit of a modern twist on it because even though the times have changed, there is still a lot of civil unrest in these streets. It’s more economic than racial but it exists none the less.

The footage cut in was from various news stories and clips of the Panthers from yesteryear. We also used scenes of the police/military forcefully invading neighbourhoods to represent the unwanted presence of certain powers that be in our areas. It’s about regaining control of our destinies in these times of control and obedience.
