The producers of the Beautiful Losers documentary recently published their graffiti documentary series, which is part of the street art, skateboard and punk documentary ‘DIY America’.

‘DIY America’ is a serialized show focusing on leaders in the youth/punk/Do It Yourself movement. Subjects include over two decades of leaders from the skateboarding, punk, grafitti and hip hop worlds.

Roots and Drive (Part 1):
In the first part the well-known graffiti artists Craig Stecyk, KR, Todd James, Sleezer, Epso and Earsnot talk about the history and spread of graffiti, as well as what motivates them to create graffiti.

Legal vs. Illegal (Part 2):
The second part is about the dangerousness of Graffiti action. Graffiti artists Sace, Abhor, Amaze, Deadcat, Sleezer and Earsnot talk about legal versus illegal graffiti.

Broom and Brush Brigade (Part 3):
The third part is about the buffers – On the street with the graffiti removal crew from San Francisco’s Department of Public Works.

Public spaces VS. private space (Part 4):
Graffiti artists discuss public spaces versus private space. This episode features ESPO, KR, Craig R. Stecyk, Barry McGee, Amaze, Earsnot, Sace and Shepard Fairey.
