Japan is often recognized as the easternmost haven for hip hop and beat music. For years Tokyo has been a hip hop mecca and brought forth the likes of DJ Krush and Nujabes. Lately the beat scene has flourished with producers like Budamunk, Bugseed, Pigeondust, and more.

Toky00 is a monthly event and radio show curated by French expat Child Midori who currently calls Tokyo his home. Each episode is played out live at a bar in Shibuya while being simultaneously broadcast in Paris via Radio Zero Zero. The focus is on beats and frequently features some of the best in the Japanese scene.
