Stream: Souls Rest – Better Weapon

We’re not sure why this album is tagged as “Drake” on Soundcloud, because the other tags “Jazzmatazz” and “Common” are more accurate for this release. The demo tape by Canadian jazz-hop trio Souls Rest already impressed us back in March, so it’s exciting to finally hear the full-length debut Better Weapon.

Expect organic jazz-oriented instrumentation and smooth melodies with a soulful vocal touch here and there. The intro track and “Soul Food” got us hooked right away. We’re loving it and while listening to Better Weapon we crave for more jazz-influenced hip hop releases.
