Art: Justin Bua – The Legends of Hip Hop

I remember stumbling across Justin Bua’s The DJ piece when I was a youngin’ digging around the internet searching for hip hop culture and related art. Ever since then he’s always been an absolute favorite.

Last week he released his second book The Legends of Hip Hop featuring fifty portraits of pioneers and important characters of the hip hop movement – from Afrika Bambaataa and Big Daddy Kane to Nas and Biggie.

The book also includes a foreword by Chuck D (of Public Enemy) and Bua’s commentary about the influence of each character on hip hop history and his personal life. A must have that you can find here. Below is his daughter, Akira, doing a little promotion on daddy’s book. Teach ’em young!
