L’Orange finds his signature sound in samples from pre-1950s jazz, soul and radio. His albums are often cinematic or conceptual, taking inspiration from classic film noir and shadowy motifs. He’s one of the contemporary independent producers with real substance. Get L’Orange’s upcoming album The Mad Writer will be out on November 20th with guest appearances by yU, Has-Lo and, indeed, Blu.
