Awon, the Virginia rapper has just released his latest record titled Matte Black Soul. This album is heavily produced by Phoniks, who has worked with Awon most notably on the album, Return of The Golden Era. Phoniks, and the other producers including Awon himself, craft soul-influenced soundscapes for Awon to rhyme over as he touches on personal subjects and societal issues. 

Manan is from Illinois (born close to Chicago) and currently in Florida for school. His love for hip hop started with the up-and-coming Northwest scene, and has led to him become fully submerged in hip hop culture. Other interests include crate digging, ultimate (frisbee), and reading sci-fi/fantasy.
