Listen: Soul Supreme – The Message / Umi Says 7″

Who needs Mos Def or The Furious Five when you have Soul Supreme?

Just kidding, just kidding. Don’t light your hip-hop torches. These instrumental covers of classics by Jerusalem-born, Amsterdam-based producer, DJ & keyboardist Soul Supreme are extremely good, though.

He previously flipped them on his Instagram page alongside other keyboard covers and reworks of A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, Nas, Dilla, Stevie Wonder, D’Angelo, Cortex & others. This dude is insane on the keys. So I’m glad to see these two combined on a 7″ record by Chicago-based boogie/disco/funk imprint Star Creature Universal Vibrations.
