In recent times TOKiMONSTA has rocketed to the top of the male dominated experimental beat movement. Her style has grown and evolved immensely in the past few years and today she uploaded two old tracks from 2008 and 2006 respectively, one of them unreleased. Both tracks are pretty damn cool and have a great jazzy vibe to them. It is quite interesting to see how her sound has progressed over the years.

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing her live twice, once after the release of her debut album ‘Midnight Menu’ and then again after the release of her latest EP ‘Creature Dreams’.  While she was amazing on both occasions, the second time she was an absolute monster (no pun intended). The entire venue was floored by her killer set and it was most evident that she had improved her live performance greatly.

It is awesome to see a woman making such fantastic music and achieving international success in a genre that is dominated by male performers. If she comes to a venue near you, I highly recommend you go see her perform, she will probably melt your mind and make fall you at least partially in love.
