Stream: Yugen Blakrok – Return of the Astro-Goth
Shadowy and arcane instrumental and rhymes fuse on Return of the Astro-Goth, the new album from South African emcee Yugen Blakrok produced entirely by Johannesburg underground veteran Kanif.
Somewhere in the vein of raw esoteric boom bap like Cannibal Ox, Blakrok touches on ancient and modern wisdom like a time traveling mage. Production by Kanif is so dark and murky, it seems he has been taking regular trips to the underworld seeking inspiration from Hades. It seems like this is the first full length release from indie label Iapetus Records, but we can only hope there is a lot more to come in the near future.
