All end-of-the-year rankings aside: Jazz Echo by Russian producer LTF is without a doubt one of my favorite instrumental records of 2018. A top 3 contender together with Shin-Ski’s Virtuality, and a third spot that changes by the day. Man, how do people even manage to come up with a definite Top 50…?
This mini-documentary explores LTF’s personal growth and the music that lighted the fuse behind his Jazz Echo album. Switching from American jazz to Soviet funk and jazz, and highlighting his weapons of choice: the sampler and playing the acoustic bass.
