News: Rapper Eyedea died; cause remains unknown
Sad news hits the internet today. Kathy Averill, mother of Minneapolis rapper/singer Eyedea, announced on her Facebook page that her son has passed away. The cause of his death remains unknown. On the Facebook page you can read the following words: “It is with great pain and sadness that I tell you my son Mikey (Eyedea) has passed away. At this time we kindly request your respect and our privacy as we process this devastating loss. We do, however, welcome your kind words, memories, and positive thoughts.” Eyedea died at the age of 28.

History
Eyedea’s career began blossoming in the late ’90s and early 2000s thanks to a series of epic freestyle battle wins and a heavily conceptual rapping style. Together with Abilities he formed the hip hop duo Eyedea & Abilities (E&A), a critically acclaimed Rhymesayers act. Eyedea died at the age of 28.
