Playlist #8: Eat Microphones Vol. 1

Playlist #8: Eat Microphones Vol. 1

Our latest DragOnTape playlist series focuses on the best emcees, rappers that just devour microphones with their great flows, rhymes and metaphors. This should be a fun little series of video playlists in which we hope to shine a light on the absolute best rappers in hip hop, both new era emcees as well as the older generation.

Our latest DragOnTape playlist series focuses on the best emcees, rappers that just devour microphones with their great flows, rhymes and metaphors.

The video mixtape starts with a crazy cypher from Dutch crew Het VerZet and proceeds through tracks by newcomer and future superstar Joey Bada$$, Stones Throw’s Homeboy Sandman, The Find Mag favourite Shad K, New Zealand’s finest Home Brew Crew and a bunch more highly talented emcees.

The skills displayed in this playlist are simply undeniable. After Het VerZet, there are two more live performances, one from Qwel rapping at UGHH.com headquarters and one from The Palmer Squares in a cluttered bathroom. While the playlist is primarily English, HetVerZet have some Dutch raps, and Kase.O represents the Spanish speaking world of hip hop with the track “Boogaloo” from his latest album Jazz Magnetism.

This should be a fun little series of video playlists in which we hope to shine a light on the absolute best rappers in hip hop, both new era emcees as well as the older generation.
