News: New album Bilal in 2010

After his first release, 1rst Born Second in 2001, soulsinger Bilal is back next year with a new album. He will release his highly anticipated sophomore album on indie label Plug Research.

In 2003 Bilal was ready to release his second official album ‘Love For Sale’, but because his label dropped Bilal, the album never made it to the shelves and got leaked on internet instead. That doesn’t mean Bilal didn’t make music in the mean time: he worked with artists as Mos Def, Robert Glasper, J Dilla, Jay-Z and Sa-Ra.

Release
There’s still no official album title, but Bilal’s second official album will be released in 2010. Indie label Plug Research note on their website that they’re enlighted to work with the soulsinger: “Bilal is truly one of a kind, from his first appearance on record on Common’s “Funky For You” to his amazing (but sadly shelved) second album ‘Love For Sale’, he continually creates innovative and lasting works of art.”
