Music: Arcade Fire – Wake Up

After an attempt to cover ‘Wake Up’ by indie rock band Arcade Fire, The Roots got inspired to work on a project full of covers together with soulful vocalist John Legend. The title of the album will be ‘Wake Up’. The release includes covers of tracks by Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack. Guests on the album include Common and CL Smooth.

How I Got Over
According to ?uestlove, they recorded ‘Wake Up’ at the same time as their upcoming studio album How I Got Over‘. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the drummer says that ‘Wake Up’ is done for 90 percent. Still, ‘How I Got Over’ will see daylight first, approximately out this June on Def Jam Records.
