Review: Dessa (Doomtree) – A Badly Broken Code (2010)

Like other Doomtree records releases, Dessa’s ‘A Badly Broken Code’ has an overall feel of blurring the line between genres. Dessa raps “Children aren’t as simple as we’d like to think…” on the first track ‘Children’s Work.’ A touching narrative track about an older sister and her younger brother that shows Dessa’s style, flow, and viewpoint are anything but simple.
